Many drivers start racing in karts, however Callum Jenkins had only participated in local hire kart championships before making his circuit racing debut in 2015, competing in the Junior Saloon Car Championship. He is a dedicated driver determined to excel at any circuit with his commitment being demonstrated when he competed in the British 24hr Kart Race at Teesside Autodrome in summer last year and his team - SG Petch Fury - finished 3rd in spite of technical difficulties that resulted in losing many laps part way through the race. This perseverance will bring him a great season in the VAG Trophy this year....More
As with many young drivers, Chris started his racing career in karting at the age of 10, which just happened to be in Vietnam, where his dad had to relocate for work. Chris carried on karting in countries such as Singapore and Dubai, as his family continued to relocate for his dad's work. Soon he was competing against more experienced drivers and winning, which led him to move on up as a candidate for top classes in motor sport.
In 2014 Chris acquired a race prepared Ford Fiesta ST, which allowed him to enter the Scottish Ford Fiesta Championship ST Cup Class. There he finished 6th in the overall championship and five podium stands - quite an achievement for a new comer. In 2016 he was approached by team owner David Sleigh and was offered to a seat in one of his racing Mini Coopers for the season.
Chris is now racing at the VAG Trophy championship on behalf of Team HARD.
